Italian Sausage and peppers Crock pot Dinner

2 TBS olive oil
1 pkg. hot Italian sausage (approx. 5 sausages)
½ cup burgundy wine
2 green bell peppers, quartered and seeded
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 onion, chopped
¼ tsp basil
1 bay leaf
1 TBS oregano
2 (15 oz.) cans of tomato sauce
salt and pepper to taste

Slice sausages into ¼ inch slices.  Brown in olive oil; drain off fat.  Put the sausages in the crock pot and add all other ingredients.  Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4-6 hours.  Serve with your favorite pasta.
